Our museum offers a look into Evart’s past. Donations & loans should be limited to Evart History. Please contact the library with any questions.

OVERDUE POLICY
Effective March 1, 2026
- No daily fines! The library understands that things happen! We would appreciate a courtesy call and we can renew your book!
- Renew books: The library is happy to renew your book up to 4 times and is at the discretion of the staff. Newly released books may not be available for 4 renewals as others are waiting too!
- Library staff will call a week after the due date with a friendly reminder if you haven’t renewed your book. Please understand that it’s just a reminder and the staff is just doing their job.
- Bill for Replacement: The library understands that accidents happen that damage books or they become lost. The library will invoice for the actual cost of the item as indicated on the library’s computer date-base for:
- Damaged books (If a book is damaged under your care to the extent that it can no longer circulate)
- Lost books or Overdue books: the library will invoice 30 days after the courtesy call if the book has not been returned.
- Melcat books that have not been returned to Evart Library
- Melcat books that have not been returned to participating libraries.
- Borrowing privileges will be revoked until an invoice is paid, at which time your privilege will be reinstated.
- Claims returned: When a patron claims an item has been returned (we make mistakes too), a search will be put on the book. If the book is not located within 30 days the patron may be responsible for the book. There is a limit of three claims of returned books allowed.
